Goals and Accountability

Erin Day
We all have goals and need to hold ourselves accountable in reaching these goals. What is stopping you from reaching your goals today?
A goal is defined as "the end toward which effort is directed".
Accountability is defined as "an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions".
Setting Goals
  • Make an action planĀ
  • Set specific and attainable goals
  • Set goals that motivate you
  • Write down your goalsĀ
  • Stick with it
Holding Yourself Accountable
  • Write everything down.
  • Identify your personal mission statement.
  • Reward your accomplishments.
  • Create micro-goals.
  • Review your performance.
  • Seek feedback from others.
Why Goals Fail?

2. You have doubts
3. You are not working at it
4. Your goals are not motivating
5. You are not committed
6. You are not focused
7. You give too many excuses
8. You don't know how to fail
9. You are distracted
10. You give up too soon
"If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes."
